Hi learners 👋🏽
The one who’s serious about building the life you want by doing what you have to do - learn and grow.
First of all, welcome to the Age of Learning 🦄 community where we are intentional about continuously building the life we want by doing what we have to do.
When one decides to be serious with their life, life becomes a circus, serving every possible distraction and demotivation to stop you from moving with clarity — Destiny Felinah 🦋
Last week, I was distracted just like the past two weeks. I’ve been noticing a trend with distractions a month after I decided to intentionally try new things and take the risk to learn.
Sometimes I get caught up in my to-do list and life decisions so much that I become paralyzed and choose to do nothing that requires work. I try to piece everything together in my head and make everything make sense before I move.
I’ve fallen out of schedule — hence I’m sending this newsletter on Tuesday instead of Monday. And this is because I get caught up chasing thoughts.
We are in a big circus…
A circus is a company of performers who put on diverse entertainment shows that may include clowns, acrobats, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, dancers, hoopers, tightrope walkers, jugglers, magicians, ventriloquists, and unicyclists as well as other object manipulation and stunt-oriented artists — Wikipedia.
And that’s okay. We can’t change that. The best thing we can do is play our part and focus on it. We can’t control what the jesters by the side do, we might not be able to decide what the magician on the left is doing, but if we happen to be the jugglers, we can ensure that we are focused on the balls and giving the best show we can.
You have your role to play in this big circus 🦋
While we cannot totally remove the distractions and isolate ourselves from the impacts of our environment — whether positive or negative. Whatever you’ve decided to do and whoever you’ve decided to be — that, you can control.
What should you take from this?
You invested your time to read this newsletter till this point so you deserve to take something home
No matter how distracted you get. Pick one thing that matters. Just one thing you’ll truly be proud of and show up for it — tired or confused — show up. The distraction will never completely go away so focus on what’s in your hand and the people genuinely paying attention to you. Own your stage.
Progress Update
🦄 When you are doing practice projects learning seems to be slow but keep going, You’re doing okay.
Regardless of the distraction I consistently showed up for my Python lessons and made progress with the tiny projects I had to do. This week I’ll be going back to learning theories.
I didn’t take my business course — to be honest, the course became unproductive because the course material is outdated and the content is not practice-based.
I showed up consistently for the Study with me 🦋 | 1 hour of focus Twitter space I host every weekday at 10 PM WAT as an accountability prompt.
🌱 Growth takes time but let’s keep going — and I need your support.
Yayyy, our newsletter community went on to 30 subscribers 🎉 Next we’ll celebrate 50 subscribers.
🦋 I created the first digital material for Age of Learning 🦄 — can you see that?
Last week I created and launch the first resource for Age of Learning 🦄 It’s a planner template to help you create a pathway if you’re learning anything. It’ll help you map out your goals, study plan and learning curriculum.

💪🏼 Last week I made a successful Tweet that got me new learning friends. It felt good to meet people who were also learning.
🧑🏽💻 Speaking engagement
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with the Cowrywise Ambassador’s audience where I talked about building a successful tech career. The content of that virtual meetup will be further built on and would be available in my Gumroad shop soon.
🐳 Event Update
This week Friday (03:00 PM WAT) I’ll be hosting a Twitter space with Mo Batran, the CEO of two AI startups in Tokyo and Danielle Oberdier, the Founder of Dikayo Data for everyone who wants to get started in Data Science.
If you want me to host a space for any career or skill in particular, let me know in the comment.
Now…
For the close
This week, we’ll maintain sanity by minimizing what we have to focus on. Thanks for reading the Age of Learning 🦄 newsletter by your explorer fellow doing hard things — Destiny Felinah. The more you share, the faster we get to 50. Until next week, stay sane.
Thanks for sharing Destiny! You motivate me to become consistent with my newsletter already.
Speaking of Twitter space collaborations, I'd love to co-host one with you on marketing. This is my area, my strength and my career. I'm not a founder or 5+ years expert, but from my almost 2 years of experience as a marketing strategist and strengths in social media, I can tell your audience 1/2 ways on how to keep learning and growing in the field. Basically sharing all I have learnt, and still learning.
Thank you for sharing, Destiny.
Your story is always inspiring, love it for you my friend. Keep exploring and blossoming 💜.
Ps. We loved listening to you speak at our tech career event. 💙
