Hello friends,
“A tale of how I missed my interview”
Welcome again to the Age of Learning 🦄 A community for those dedicated to building the life they want by doing the required work.

Ate Oreos (even though I don’t like sugar) and currently drinking red wine, which I love as I write to you.
Baby Steps
I woke up this morning and the very first thing I saw was I missed my INTERVIEW!!!
I grabbed my phone to turn off my alarm at 07 AM and I saw a time-sensitive alert from Google Calendar… No way!!!
I thought I was in a dream but I couldn’t seem to wake up or unsee what I just saw, that’s when I knew it was real. I confidently believed it was scheduled for 5 PM, but it was 5 AM!!! You can guess how my morning went.
I had put in so much work to research and prepare for this interview. I went to bed at 2:30 AM because I was reading materials that are relevant to the organization and woke up the next morning to find out I was sleeping when my potential employer was on a call waiting for a woman fast asleep.
Today was one of those days when you convenience yourself you are not stupid. One of those days where you just have to forgive yourself and move on. One of those days where you don’t declare your whole day, week, year and life ruined because you made one mistake. One of those days when you learn that forgiving people is relatively easier than forgiving yourself. One of those days when you choose to learn to be a resilient human who holds on to hope and chooses to find solutions instead of dwelling on problems and challenges.
It is important to learn how to come out of self-pity and choose to make decisions in the direction of creating solutions. It’s important to learn not to allow singular events to drive an entire course in a counter-productive direction.
I am yet to have proper sleep.
Now
Whenever you schedule a meeting, make sure you check twice if it’s PM or AM on your calendar. Whether you are sure or not. Just check it out.
Form a habit of looking at your calendar when you wake up and before going to bed. This will help refresh your memory regarding your events and clear misconceptions.
Don’t trust your brain, check it again.
The Real Baby Steps
I saw this post by Adeborois talking about what it means to take baby steps. As a mother, she explains that baby steps are daring and bold. This is a message everyone must see. The decision to make a change, grow, learn new skills, and start new projects and businesses is not easy. It’s uncertain and requires hard work but it will be worth it.
Progress so far 🦄
Last was better than the previous weeks. Though I was stuck outside in the rain on Saturday night.
🦄 The more you learn, the more you figure out how much you don’t know
I was consistent with my Python lessons last week.
I learnt something new about myself, or rather saw it more emphasized. I am a resilient person. I might sound like I’m blowing my own horn but I realized it might make me cry and I might cry till I get it but I’ll keep showing up even with the tears.
I faced a difficult coding challenge and didn’t stop till I figured out the solution.
I went back to nested if statements and gained more knowledge about for and while loops. I also started learning more about functions.
Join me this week in the silent Study with me 🦋 | 1 hour of focus Twitter space I host every weekday at 10 PM WAT as an accountability prompt.
🐳 Digital tools and resources
Last week I was supposed to create a resource for getting started with Python and data science but I was so occupied with work and life. I’ll be working on that this week, hopefully.
👩🏽💻 Another event
I and Gigii have set up a Twitter Space for next week Friday covering growing on social media and starting a career as a social media manager — I have to work on the design this week.
🥑 I want to eat more avocados this week
I ate avocados last week! I did it guys
I started my stretches again and was more consistent with journaling. I also took cold baths and I am proud of that. This week, I’ll work on being consistent with my supplements.
I’ll be mini-travelling for work this week, so yeah. The experience of being on-site the last time was chaotic.
Next week I’ll be spotlighting one member of the community.
Please share the Age of Learning newsletter with your friends on your social platforms. I’ll love to see your comments (even if you just say “Hi”) Likes and reshares will go a long way. It’ll help the community grow.
Playlist 😃
I am so excited to share my 10 songs work playlist with you today.
Thank you Des. This email is so good.
